Lexa Latour
Hi, my name is Lexa Latour.
I am a graphic designer who specializes in illustration and motion graphics. I work to combine my artistic creativity with tech skills in order to produce thought-provoking work. I enjoy creating fun, personal designs/illustrations that tell a story. I have always made an effort to have interesting themes be the backbone of every piece I create. I strive to leave a strong impression with my work by spreading values and messages that I believe are important to the world.
My artistic journey has been a long road of learning, one that I will be travelling on for the rest of my life. Along the way, I have had to adapt to plenty of change and a variety of obstacles. Like most artists do, I began with a paper, pen in hand and a desire to create. Nowadays, I spend a majority of my time learning new techniques and finding ways to incorporate fresh ideas in my work. I like to stay up-to-date on new design trends without having them overshadow my personal flare. Being a part of the art community is something I hold close to my heart, and I’m hoping to find a niche for myself in the near future. My designs are often bubbly, vibrant, and exciting. I find my creations to be the best way to express myself and I like to put a piece of myself into every project I work on.
My strongest design skills come in the form of digital illustration and animated graphic design. I have been working with illustration for over a decade and have only recently started to refine my abilities. My favourite subjects include characters and places of my own creation, though I often indulge in preexisting media, too. In contrast, only over the past three years have I started to work with motion graphics and I have begun to love the process behind making my designs move. Using these two main skills, I do my best to make art worth thinking about.
Some of my most important inspirations are cats, the many animated/illustrated media I consume, and the people in my social circle. I take pieces of these three areas of my life and weave them into nearly every design I create.
