Katelyn Asselin
Hello, my name is Katelyn Asselin, and I am a passionate graphic designer based in North Bay, Ontario. My journey into the world of graphic design began with a deep love for drawing. Over the years I have honed my skills and found my calling in creating visually engaging graphics that not only communicate a message but also inspire and connect with audiences. I have found a particular interest in illustration and photography, specifically character design and pet photography.
Before diving into the world of graphic design, my initial career aspirations were centered around becoming an educator for children. I envisioned myself in a classroom, nurturing young minds and shaping the next generation. However, life had other plans for me. As I explored my passions further, I realized that my love for art and creativity far surpassed my initial goals. The more I engaged with different forms of artistic expression, the clearer it became that I wanted to pursue a career that allowed me to create visually compelling designs.
Making the switch to graphic design was an exciting, yet challenging decision, and it has proven to be one of the best choices I’ve ever made. Since embarking on this career path, I have felt a deep sense of fulfillment and joy. The ability to combine my skills in illustration and photography to craft unique designs has been an incredibly rewarding experience. It’s a field that constantly pushes me to learn and grow, while also allowing me to work on projects that I am genuinely passionate about.
As a graphic designer, I would like to focus on working with non-profit organizations, specifically those that are animal related. I believe that design can be a powerful tool for positive change, and I want to use my skills to help these organizations elevate their causes and make a lasting impact. Whether it’s creating eye-catching promotional materials, designing logos, or capturing stunning photos of animals in need, my goal is to use my creativity to help improve the lives of the animals and people these organizations serve.
I am passionate about using design to give voice to causes that matter, and animal welfare is one cause that is very close to my heart. I’ve seen firsthand the difference that a strong, cohesive visual identity can make in raising awareness and encouraging support for animal-focused non-profits. I’ve already begun working with a couple different local shelters, but I hope to continue contributing to this important work and help organizations reach their goals with the help of my designs.
My journey as a graphic designer has been both exciting and fulfilling. I am grateful for the opportunity to follow my passion for art and design, and I am eager to continue learning and growing in the field. I look forward to contributing my skills to help non-profit organizations, particularly those focused on animals, and make a meaningful impact and change the lives they touch for the better. Graphic design has become more than just a career for me; it’s a way to combine my love for creativity with my desire to help others and make a difference in the world.
